How is LA one of the poorest metro areas? It's public schools are certainly lacking, but that has more to do with the city's economy hurting right now and the idiocy in local government.
The median household income in the New York area is $51,000 in L.A. metro it's $46,000 except the cost of living is higher in New York.
No..
Rank:
8. New York-Northern New Jersey-Long Island, NY-NJ $53,423
Both cities aren't growing very much from people "wanting" to move there. With domestic migration in the United States, more people move OUT of New York City Metro and Los Angeles Metro than in. The way these cities are growing is by having a higher birth rate to compensate for those leaving and by immigration from foreign countries/illegal immigration.
So for every "yuppie" American that moves into New York Metro, two people are leaving.
I'm not talking about boring middle class John and Jane Doe who can't afford New York/SF/Washington/Boston and move to San Antonio because it's cheap. (believe me me, TX is full of this...I saw about 10 California plates and a few from NJ )
I said young graduates from top schools. White Collar! How may grads from Stanford, Princeton, MIT or Columbia want to move to the south? hahah.
Oh shut up! California in general isn't where you go for top universities. We all know that they are all on the east coast anyway. That isn't LA's fault.
You really have no clue. Stanford, Berkeley, California Institute of Technology.
Exactly that link is slanted. Wikipedia is not trust worthy cause anyone can put information to it by editing the page even some of the new york boosters on here can tweak the information. Any city owns radio, any city has newspaper, any city has TV production (local news, public access) and new york basically just owns the news media and a copule of TV networks, but LA also has the same as well. New York dosent control/own all media.
LOL How about this website is this link "slanted"? It says the same thing as Wikipedia regarding the media.
New York also solidified its reputation as a communications center during the last decades of the 20th century. Manhattan is the headquarters of the nation’s television and radio networks, making it the heart of the mass media in the United States. The headquarters of most of the nation’s major publishing houses and advertising agencies are also clustered in Manhattan’s Midtown.
Los Angeles, city in southern California, the most populous city in the state and the second most populous city and metropolitan region in the United States, after New York City. Located on the Pacific Ocean, the metropolis is noted for its balmy climate, scenic setting, motion-picture and television industries, and many freeways—as well as for occasional earthquakes, wildfires, and smog. Referred to casually as “LA,” Los Angeles is one of the major industrial, commercial, and financial centers of the United States
