Actually, Pensacola is bigger than Savannah

Pensacola metro has 453,451
Savannah metro has 401,132

Pesnacola #104
Savannah #118

I was measuring based on the population of the city itself. The topic was Savannah vs Pensacola, not Savannah metro vs Pensacola metro.

Smaller cities can offer a peace of mind that bigger cities can't. Just like not everyone wants to live somewhere warm like me, not everyone wants to live in a big city with all the amenities you want. The amenities may be a benefit to you, but they're meaningless to someone that doesn't want/need them.
Thats not true for everyone. Even in the TC metro burbs I feel discontented when sleeping over at a friends house. And this is coming from someone who lives in Minneapolis. Of the Major U.S. cities, Mini is not even that big.
Peace of mind cannot be found in one single place for every single person. Biking downtown is like yoga for me personally.

So your excuse is that we are not comparing metro areas?

Well, I am sorry but everyone uses the metro area population when moving to a city.

EX) San Anotonio has 1,336,040, but the whole metro area only has 1,990,675

Your post reflect your age. It makes me laugh when you give people advice to people on this site with families and you are 17 yrs old.

This is the last time that I EVER reply to anything that you say. You are now on my ignore list

SC must be really getting to you cause you sound really cranky, do the Southerners whip up on you down there? judging from the way you act on this forum I bet they get tired of being around you.

I really dont see the infatuation with the big cities, I think some people wanna use the cities as a ego boost, personally I rather have a town of 10,000 people than a crowded stressed out city.

I think there maybe should be a subforum for smaller cities. Many smaller cities in the 100,000-300,000 population range are too small and too looked down upon to really get much serious discussion in the General U.S. forum but are still cities and are too big to really fit into the Rural and Small Town Living forum. The OP has a point.

You have just figured out that I hate SC? The feeling of being around "Bubba" watching nascar and going huntin/muddin does not appeal to me.

Actually, I prefer small towns myself. I just like to have a really big city about 30 minutes away

People from smaller cities probably have to be fairly aggressive if they want to be heard in this forum...but the larger cities will always end up being discussed more often and in more detail simply because there are undoubtedly more members from larger cities.
