Unless you count the regional HQ in Cali, Acer is a Taiwanese company. Have to google exactly where as I'm not sure off the top of my head.

Fair enough, as I'm prone to get butthurt on the issue. I was just clarifying that those companies are located in or nearer another city. Sorry, guy.

Default I don't think there's much left to say here..

..as a consensus has been reached on the first four cities, and then everyone scatters for the fifth. Fun thread, but there's just not that much left to debate.

I don't think the fifth is even much of a debate...I'd say there's minor arguments for cities like Boston and Houston...but I think the favorite would be the Bay Area. I think the main debate would be for the sixth city between Boston and Houston.

Technically I suppose NYC was the first capital after the Constitution was ratified in 1789. But Philadlephia was the First Capital under the First Continental Congress in 1774 and probably would have remained the capital until this day if Congress hadnt run out of money and chased out of town by angry soldiers who were owed money.

I don't think there's solid criteria for splitting hairs that thin. We can single out the huge cities and our capital, but after that it's never going to be settled.

Without the pioneers in Silicon Valley, this whole discussion board wouldn't even be around.

And a large percentage of our kids wouldn't have wasted their youth, becoming overweight underactive social misfits as they grew through adolescence. The newspaper industry wouldnt have disintegrated, the music industry wouldnt be bankrupt,no porn epidemic,no craigslist killers. How many millions of worldwide jobs have been eliminated due to the advent of this lightning quick, soul stealing scourge?

Silicon Valley loses a few points in my book
