I nominate the Minnesota State Fair, the largest state fair in the nation in terms of average daily attendance.

I knew the Upper Midwest does it best. So much wide open spaces. Perfect for a fair.

We have the biggest for sure here in Texas, but the best is in Iowa - huge, every country singer performs there, and the whole event represents a way of life.

Sorry Laddy, based on average daily attendance Minnesota's State Fair is bigger. Texas' most recent attendance listed was for 2007 and was 125K/day, Minnesota's average daily attendance was 141K for 2008. Minnesota's is more profitable as well since half of the tickets to the Texas State Fair are given away to students and the like. Truth is the Texas State Fair attendance is estimated and actual count must be viewed with a certain amount of skepticism given our Texas friends' well-known, propensity to exagerate everything. Also, most of the good cattle ranchers and butter-head carvers concentrate on Minnesota and the Midwest and usually bypass Texas completely.

I looked it up on the web.

Those fairs are too big IMO. I think you get the more authentic experience in the many county fairs across the country.
