At least the sixers don't have problems filling seats unlike most other cities.
Philadelphia is the top sports city.
Philadelphia has the loyal fans, the sports bars, the parties, the sports figures from the city, the rings, and the stadiums.

You're completely stretching it.
The Sixers' attendance this year is underwhelming, to say the least. They got off to their best start in 11 years, but it took weeks before fans started showing up to the games. The resurgence of the Sixers still hasn't caught on completely, as only a few gaves have been fully sold out (the most recent game against Chicago surprisingly wasn't).
Rings? None of Philly's teams have ever been dominant. In fact, Philly is the least successful major sports city. The most successful team has only won 3 championships.
The Eagles have never won a Super Bowl.
The Phillies won their first ever World Series in 1980 after nearly 100 years of existence.
The Flyers have lost 6 straight Stanley Cup Finals.
The Sixers haven't been relevant since the Iverson days.

This is a pretty good list. Denver I think also deserves to be a part of this list...it has all four sports, all with reasonable support. Dallas, Los Angeles, and San Francisco as well. Detroit as well, especially since the Lions are doing good this year, and you know that the Pistons, Red Wings, and Tigers will all do well. Finally, I'd say that Cleveland is a pretty decent sports city. Miami and Washington as well.

nyc, philly, chicago, and boston are easy. big markets with a lot of hothead irish and italian fans.
the others i picked because all the rust belt has going for it are sports. it's like when kids live in the middle of nowhere, the only thing to do is drink. for the rust belt, the only big things going on are sports. i noticed in those rust belt cities, the sports atmosphere seems like the ENTIRE city is watching the game unlike in cities like dc or la where the fan base feels lost in the shuffle.

Philly has 13 Championships I believe (remember the Warriors and A's won a few while in Philly)
Would definately like more
Agree on the sixers; have always been the poorest drawing team in the city
Also there are 8 total World Series winners in Philly (5 by the A's who were considered the first truw Baseball Dynasty; prior to the Yankees; their historic arch enemy)
I would say Philadelphia's lack of championships compared to other major cities actually proves it to be the best sports city in the country. It's pretty easy to be a Yankees, Bulls or Lakers fan. Philly has the storied history, although it may be filled with more heartbreak.
The loyalty and knowledge of the fans is unmatched IMO and many pro-athletes agree. There have been many league-wide polls in which athletes rank Philly as the most intimidating place to play as well as having the most knowledgeable fans (especially in Hockey and Football).
Baseball made a huge resurgence when Citizens Bank Park was built and now The Phillies may have the most loyal fanbase in all of MLB. The Sixers are seeing a pretty nice resurgence as well (althought Philly was always a big College Basketball town).
Also, Philly natives have a very sizeable representation of athletes, coaches, and officials in all sports and levels of play.
