nice pictures, but then you have to get in your car and drive everywhere, there isn't near as much people interaction... that is where for most urbanites l.a. loses major points, not that they don't have great night life or restaurants or economy.

But 23 floors up is also quite available in Los Angeles. There's no Loop but there is a gorgeous coastline and towering mountains. I think the scenic appeal of Chicago is bona fide but it is the same experience in New York & to a lesser extend in many American cities albeit smaller versions. What sets Los Angeles apart is that the natural scenic is quite impressive & only other cities on the West Coast can match LA's geography [San Francisco\ Seattle\ Honolulu].

Beautiful photos!

As for that poster, I doubt he/she will post any photos. He/she knows anything posted will be inferior to LA's landscape and breathtaking scenery.

That's far from nature. It's too spoiled. I'd take northern michigan over that anyday

also, if you've never been to sleeping bear dunes national park, you'll find we midwesterners have some incredible coasts as well. Same for the shores of superior in the u.p.
lol!

My original post had proper spelling and punctuation, also, how is that not an entirely human-made landscape?

Then again, it's usual for the people of California to be impressed with petty fakeness. You can see it in their women

We don't have car culture, I mean, we invented the car and are home to the 3 major car companies in America, have some of the most famous freeways in America, as well as the largest classic car parade on the planet.

NOOOOOO!

Boy what a low blow! and signals frustration. By the way, how can mountains ranges be "human-made"? Isn't that exactly what Chicago is? You don't make sense. But I like the photo of Lake Michigan [no one is laughing, bro

Here's another waterfront, West Coast style:

Where was the first pic taken from? Reminds me of the condo I used to live in during summers as a kid. We had a view almost exactly like that.

I'm saying don't tout having nature if it's covered in houses or has a superhighway running right through the middle. Yeah, Chicago is human-made, but it doesn't tout itself as having "natural beauty".

Every single post by you and the other LA boosters here is always hinting that we are jealous of something... Are you that insecure about the inferiorities of where you live that you need to demand in your own mind a love from everyone else for it too?
