I wouldn't consider Charleston, Charlotte, and Louisvlle very big cities.

Jacksonville, DEFINATELY yes. Tampa, not that bad for it's size. And it's improving, and growing. It's REALLY not that bad for it's size. But Jax is a city of 800,000 and it's downtown is not that great.

Naw, that's because SJ's is just small, LOL. SJ is a city of 900,000(nearly a million). I'd still choose SJ over JAX, not that JAX is a bad city, SJ just seems more attractive to me, despite it's downtown.

SJ's downtown, while not great, does have more to offer than JAX and PHX for sure.

I drove through downtown Phoenix at 11 PM a few weeks ago and it was completely dead. I saw a few people outside of a bar and passed a few cars but that was it. Tempe and Scottsdale have Phoenix beat for culture and entertainment, unfortunately. Phoenix has so much potential and it's sad to see a city this big with a not-so-good music scene, among other things.
