You can include Midtown and Buckhead, but it isnt about them.. its about the downtown center city area.. and Philly is way larger.. if you added Philly's surrounding skylines it could actually swallow Atlanta whole.
I like Philadelphia's skyline better; with the historic mid-rise buildings and density, it looks like a section of Manhattan. However, the last pic in Nature's first post is phenomenal...you have to get Atlanta at an odd angle to get me interested in its dispersed skyline.

No it's not. The O.P. said simply choose which city skyline you like the best Atlanta or Philly. Atlanta's Buckhead and Midtown are both inside Atlanta city limit so there skylines are part of Atlanta's overall skyline. Besides, Midtown is really not far from downtown Atlanta anyway. They are practically joined together with Buckheads skyline begining just a short distance north of Midtown and streching northward.
54% to 46% is pretty close...people have some misconceptions about Atlanta's skyline. The Downtown core is nice and dense and is not "spread out". If you try to add Midtown or Buckhead skylines, then it becomes spread out.

While this is true, it's nowhere near as dense as Philadelphia's.
