But the worst are the poor families now stuck in tent cities. Florida tent city offers hope to homeless - TODAY People

Florida's low wages hammer working families
What you don't realize is a lot of people move to Florida when they become homeless from different states. Florida does not have an abundence of tent cities because of its own economy. The homeless move here so they don't freeze to death in the winter up north.

Its easy to prevent heat stroke. Drink water. Its hard to bundle up in a tent in freezing weather.

I must add that our insurance rates have increased over 300% in just 6 years.....yet here we are bailing out insurance companies with taxpayer monies......what a travesty! But the drop in equity in the Sarasota market is truly astounding...I think(I may be off on number) we are in the top 5 as far as percentage of house equity lost the past few years......the bubble really BURST in Sarasota.

It's easy to bundle up in the winter. My students don't have heat in their apartments. They put on a jacket and it's no big deal. They complain about having no AC more than wearing a jacket in their house in the winter. There's only so many clothes you can take off, you know

We renovated our house in February and torn down the back of our house. We didn't freeze to death.
