California is the most populous state in the country, its very large, as a state it has a lot to offer.

If the most of the East Coast was one state like the West Coast with California, that large East Coast state would probably be the most talked about too.

But the eastcoast from Maine to Florida is waaay longer then Cali. That wouldn't be fair. But SoCal by it's self has a HIGH population and is varied in terms of climates and topography AND economy. So even if you were to make SoCal it's own state it would STILL beat plenty of other states.

Well, it'd be a fairly even match if it was the mid-atlantic states (NY, NJ, PA) against California--of course, that's still besides the point since they are not a single state. We can chop and glue states as much as we want, but it seems like a pretty big can of worms.

I know but I was just saying that California is a massive state with a lot going for itself all over, the same can't really be said for most other states, I created the fictional "East Coast State" because as a whole its a massive region with a lot going for itself, similar to California.

I think if we use the search function and looked for the SF, San Francisco, SD, San Diego, LA, Los Angeles, Bay Area, Oakland, Sacramento, San Jose, CA and Cal (which should include norcal, socal, cali, and california) under topic title, you'll probably get more results than you would get from New York (which should include both the city and the state), NY, NYC, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, Long Island, LI and Buffalo. I might be wrong though, so if anyone feels like doing a tally, please.
