Northern Indiana is dominated by Pollacks, every year there is a "Dyngus Day" festival, it's very popular culture up there.

I should clarify that when I say Dixie, I'm speaking mainly about Atlanta.

Disagree on the pastries point, though there are great Scandinavian pastries. Also disagree on the rest of scandinavian cuisine being crap, especially with what's been happening in the culinary scene there over the last two decades.

Countries are not people. Americans who like to validate their opinions by putting them in the mouths of others make such claims. I have been a professional chef for 25 years. Professional baking texts are full of recipes that came out of the Scandinavian baking tradition. If you go to a traditional French patisserie more than half of what they are making has its' roots in Scandinavia.

French baking history is rooted in "Baklava" not Scandinavia. Most pastries have Mediterranean roots thanks to the Ottoman Empire. The word "bake" was borrowed from the Turkish word ba:klava.

What a ridiculous assumption!Florida is not the whole South!
What seasons are not represented throughout the South?

The actually have skiing in Virginia,West Virginia,Tennessee,North Carolina and Kentucky.

It was down to about 48 degrees last night in Atlanta.
Though snow is not common ,it does get very cold in Atlanta
