Too bad for Tesla, then? And what is your point... that another Ohioan invented something instead? Thanks, I guess?
Pointing out an error in fact that Edison did not invent the light bulb and yes another Ohioan (known as the Black Edison) invented something that Thomas Edison tried to steal.
Yet Atlanta isn't the most dangerous city in the country, which the Midwest gladly has (Flint, Michigan.) Neither is it as disfunctional as Detroit. Do you know the response time for police on Detroit?
Don't throw stones PA boy.....Harrisburg is no slouch when it comes to crime either. And neither is Philly.
The South is the most dangerous region in the country, period.

Tell that to all these Midwestern transplants that keep moving to Atlanta and other cities in the South.

Why do you think I'm no longer in Pennsylvania? Harrisburg is terrible. Only the downtown is worth looking at, only the aera the politicians meet in is nice and all. The rest of the city is a slum. I'm also not crazy on Philly either. However, I do still like my state of PA and I do like my current state, Georgia.

This all goes back to the point that every invention is built upon something else.
That has never been my point and is the worst kind of logic you could come up with. But you have fun with that. My words speak for themselves; these asinine implications you're making aren't even worth responding to.
Again, the Midwest can legitimately take credit for their role in the musical evolution of foundational Southern genres.
So then you agree that the South cannot claim to have invented any music, only contributed to its evolution? Which is it?
My point regarding/objecting to "claiming" the success/creations of Midwesterners with black skin as somehow "Southern".....is exactly that.
Their creations HAPPENED in the Midwest. They are Midwestern. Should Midwesterners not see them as fellow Midwesterners? Must we re-fight the Civil War? Ex-Captives (and their descendants) of that region (the South) create art, culture, music after escaping to another region, and you claim it as your art/patrimony?
So I suppose decendents of Africans have no ties culturally or historically to Africa therefore why should the call themselves African Americans?

HOW MANY TIMES DOES THIS HAVE TO BE EXPLAINED TO YOU? Jazz did not come from Africa. Its roots lie in the combining by African-Americans of certain European harmony and form elements, with their existing African-based music. Blues did not come from Africa. In other words music in America did not evolve. ALL music from America has its roots in Jazz and the Blues.Even country music was formed by use of elements from the Blues. The Banjo which is an integral instument in Country music is from Africa. Much of modern popular music can trace its roots to the emergence in the late 19th century of African American blues and the growth of gospel music in the 1920s. What music from the Midwest is NOT a derivitative of those forms? Not Motown. Not House. Not Techno. Jazz and Blues are THE roots of American music as well as some aspects of European elements. In other words, different cultures from different countries produced something prolific here in America. Key word in that sentence is cultures. Although we are different by region in the U.S.,we are by far still very much the same as from a cultiral stand point where arts are concerned. A wheel is still a wheel. You can add 2,3,or 4 wheels to make a bike, car or ATV but it stll takes a wheel to make it move. *******For some reason the formating is off and will not allow paragraphing or use of any of the features.I did not type it this way******
Once again, why does there need to 5 pages of arguing about music? Who cares?
Music doesn't make a society. When you come up with more of the South's great societal contributions, let me know. Plus, we're not talking about Bach, Beethoven or Wagner here we're talking about Jazz for petes sake.

Im done with you and your ignorance.Just because you don't care does not mean others don't either.
You already proved yourself very limited in your knowledge of world history
