Most people know the west coast has a neutral accent; not upstate NY (since that's where you claim you're from).

I got rid of it when I left so the rest of the world would not laugh at me

Sorry, but you can't get rid of an accent that easily. It's something that comes naturally that you can't force yourself to change.

Actors do it all the time...although they usually botch the Southern accent. Not even Meryl Streep can pull that off.

So I have a one of the most ugly, annoying, obnoxious accents to some of you?
And who's to judge when the judge is a hater?

Like I said. I think having any accent is better than the all American "No" accent, and i said that without a negative slur, which is what a lot of you need to grow out of without making everything a competition to be the best... I never seen so many people desperately wanting other people's approval so that they can call themselves the best.

Yeah, though I don't think Brad Pitt would make 200+ posts on a message board in a month

My husband works with a man from Alabama. To make it in the business world, he spent years (as he tells it) working on getting rid of his southern accent. Yes. You would never know where he is from.

Hey, Machiavelli. It works BOTH ways.

Never said it did not

You did prove my point though (about changing accents), thanks
