What Cities have you come across where people generally turn up their noses to others?

If so, why do you think it is that way? Any feedback is great. Thanks!

Lol "snooby". Well there are wonderful people everywhere and I don't think that everyone in these cities are like this, but the cities I have found a lot of stuck ups in are Dallas and Miami. Again, I'm not saying these cities are worse than anywhere else, just my experiences, but I actually really like these two.

You can find a lot of snobs in Manhattan (NYC). It's either that or they are just plain too busy for the common folk.

I.E. A lot of these people are transplants and foreigners.

Alexandria, Arlington, and Fairfax County, VA. There is a lot of money here and people have no problem showing you how much they are worth financially.

I think "Gold Coast of Connecticut" was traditionally seen as snooty. (Greenwich, Norwalk, Stamford) Don't know if it is though. Possibly parts of Orange County, California have a reputation like that.

Based on this site, definitely NY. There are actually some NY'ers that believe that they are celebrities in other states when they visit

Made me laugh when I read that one

(Most NY'ers are NOT like this, only the delusional ones)

I agree with all the responses so far. I want to add in parts of California as well. West LA and the San Fernando Valley, Orange County, Marin County, parts of Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo County.

I'm not to crazy about the parochial attitudes in Saint Louis. And the Saint Louis'Clayton suburb is among the worse snobaterias I have ever visited (Hello Central Casting, I need a town that can fill in for the Smails Family on Caddy Shack 4)

I had no problem with LA/OC or NYC / LI (except for East Hampton)

Seems they'd be more humble toward the "common man" knowing it's their tax money that gave them their high paying jobs to begin with.. either directly or indirectly.

It depends. Some of the wealthiest people in the world reside on the "Gold Coast" but many of them are still driving their 1995 Volvo. No lie.
