I'd vote Dallas #1 in Texas as far as who is more well-known...it gets a lot of press. However, I think Houston is the more important city if you were to compare the two.
The only time I can remember hearing about San Antonio was when there was the salsa commercials when I was a little kid and they would talk about how it was made in Texas and then they'd turn to the competitors salsa and say "this stuff is made in...NEW YORK CITY?!" haha. Or was that El Paso? They're basically the same thing, right?
Oh they definitely are. The only thing different about Dallas and Houston is the fact that they have different team names. Other than that they're just never-ending expanses of suburbia

Well according to that theory, about a hundred other cities are the same.

Go to Prairie View A&M and say that in front of a bunch of Dallas/Houston students...... See what reaction you get.

This is the truth. A lot of people wouldn't believe it, but there is a difference in the culture/accent of people from both cities (at least the Blacks).
Houston and Dallas have 2 different climates, different weather patterns, and different vegetation. Dallas is prairies, Oaks, and Cedar trees, Houston is woods, Pines, and palm trees, and nearby coastal areas. Dallas is wealthier and flashier, Houston is more diverse and somewhat more international(both are international, Houston more so than Dallas though). Both different and great cities.

Agreed on most parts, except I dont know if Dallas is wealthier. Fresh from Mexico/Central America immigrants make up a larger portion of Dallas than they do in Houston. They are notoriously poor. Plus with the way oil has been booming, I would be willing to be there is more wealth in Houston than Dallas now.

Only black people I know seem to think there is a huge difference. Most whites and hispanics dont seem to think there is much of one.
Another difference, Houston seems more blue collar than Dallas, and Dallas more white-collar.
I dont know if that is the case anymore for the same reasons I posted in my other post.
