Right on. It's hard to beat the west coast (although I still do love the east!).

I believe the question was poised before; is there anything in New York that Los Angeles doesn't have to some degree? Conversely, can NYC match what is available in Los Angeles? Most very large U.S. cities are smaller versions of the nation's largest city: New York. LA is the second largest city and has much of the same amenities as NYC. But New York can not replicate several things that Los Angeles offers and I noted earlier. Geography can not be man-made like skyscrapers. And this is where West Coast cities have the edge over the East Coast.

Amigo, maybe you should pay a little visit to NYC before spouting off at the mouth at things you so very clearly know nothing about. K?

New York City has "geography".. There is hiking, there is sailing, there is everything. Nearly everything an outdoor lover craves is within close distance to NYC.

New Yorkers can simply get in their car and get to the outdoors. Dysfunctional, dumpy Los Angeles can never replicate NYC man-made skyscrapers or the city's first class urban environment..

I like this list though I'd move a few cities up. LA and Denver are a little underrated.

By your criteria, Charlotte. But it certainly doesn't have the most to offer overall. I'd say there are 15-20 cities above it I'd put on my list, but some of them severely lack in other areas...
