You can escape the heat of Arizona by living in one of the higher elevation areas, but you can't escape the Minnesota cold anywhere in that state.

Flagstaff, AZ is a VERY nice city, especially for boarding in the winter!

I can tolerate both extremes (I'm being realistic here)
Arizon mid summer day heat isn't as harsh as Southern Florida mid summer day heat because of the humidty you have to factor in.

I'd rather deal with the Arizona heat, but much rather live in Minnesota.

Why would you prefer live in Minnesota?
Are you saying you would you prefer live in Minnesota even with the weather?
How bad is the weather?
Is it easier to play football in Minnesota or Arizona?

How do you define livable? I live in Minnesota, but have visited Arizona many times. While I've always enjoyed my visits to Arizona (especially places like Scottsdale, Tempe, Bisbee, as well as hiking around the Superstitions, White Tanks and Cave Creek), I prefer Minnesota as a place to live. The public schools are excellent as are the park systems. I also enjoy the greenery, the lakes, creeks and rivers. Both Minneapolis and St. Paul have many very vibrant neighborhoods and districts.

As far as football is concerned, my friends and I used to play football in the winter months almost daily...its tougher to catch a ball with mittens on, but the snow cushions you when you're tackled!!

Life needs water. Arizona is thirsty for water.

I'd rather live in Minnesota

So if you don't like cold weather and don't mind hot weather you are uneducated or backward. OK. Elitist at best and almost borderline racist.

How are places such as West Virginia, Oklahoma, etc. considered warmer than places such as Delaware, New Jersey, etc.?

AZ Heat > MN Cold, I have nothing against either but I do better in heat.

Oklahoma is quite a bit warmer than Delaware or New Jersey, while WV is one of those states like KY or MO that is borderline.

I like lakes, greenery, 4 seasons, good education...
Minneapolis > Phoenix.

Yea, it gets really cold in MN but the BITTER cold is only a 3 month stretch (depending on where you go) I wouldn't necessarily call Oct/Nov/Mar cold like some people do.

I'd rather play football in fall over any other season.
