When did I deny it??? and If I really wanted to bring up stuff from the past; I'd address How Galveston was the busiest port in the gulf coast and second busiest port in the country in the late 1800s (Only after NYC) or how Houston's port was home to the First Container Cargo ship, the first Double Stack container train, or TMC was where the world's first and largest air ambulance service was created. But...... I won't.
I may be mistaken, but I am pretty sure Air Ambulance services existed during World War 1 in Europe. Dont have any idea how you came up with that one.

It is where one of the first, and still the largest, air ambulance service was created; a very successful inter-institutional transplant program was developed; and more heart surgeries are performed than anywhere else in the world.
It appears TMC is geared towards patient care that incorporates research, whereas Longwood is research based first. Am I wrong? Then it would make sense why Boston has more NIH funding.
I honestly think TMC is geared towards reserach first than patients. People need to understand that TMC is not a hospital. It's a medical research facility. That's why it continues to grow even holding the title as the largest medical district in the world.
Third in the country, 14th in the world--not too bad.
Houston has advantages and Boston has advantages. Boston had a major headstart over Houston. Houston is playing catchup to cities that are now sitting around waiting for them to do so themselves. Houston has a bright future ahead of them.

Not on the level with the Boston Tea Party... but there's your history. Certainly very important to Texas and this region of the US; there's a monument just east of Houston for it that stands taller than the one in Washington D.C.
