This looks more like transit served development (TSD) than TOD.

Not crazy about the base design in both properties but do like the “tower” designs.

Not sure why everything nowadays has to be mostly windows. Another lamentable bland feature you find in new buildings city after city after city.

Trust me, it’s all bland. This Cleveland development certainly has the “what city am I in again?” syndrome. The neo-industrial window theme here is cropping up everywhere but of the 2 looks though, I prefer the tower compared to the base. The base, you know, where the chain “retail” will go with, at least initially, a local “yoga studio”.

Wonder how all this Ohio city development is going to stand the test of time.

Urban development proposals such as Harbor Bay's for Market Sq/Ohio City often over-emphasize glass because it seems ... sexy to City pols and planning commissions on whom they're trying to sell... But usually the amount of glass in the actual development is far less than artist concept drawing.

Case in point, consider the concept drawing for the riverside Alley Cat restaurant in Flats East Bank:

... versus the Alley Cat that was actually built:

If you aren't a fan of the renderings watch this video followed by a google image search of mass timber buildings. I think if you're an architecture junkie, which I think most of us are, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Fascinated to see this large scale timber construction commence (but didn't The Quarter, Van Aken District and Centric already utilize timber construction already?).... Nevertheless, very exciting... Market Square, as is Ohio City in general, is already the hottest non-downtown neighborhood in Cleveland, all things considered (University Circle-Little Italy is very close), but but this Harbor Bay development will throw OC into an even higher gear and will make W. 25th & Lorain the hottest intersection in the region ... and its highly transit friendly (rail and bus) to boot... Let the demolition + building commence!

Several days ago, when you first posted architectural renderings of this massive development, I took a first look and knew I liked it. However, the link above sealed the deal on what a game-changing set of buildings it is and how much my envy just increased down here in Cincinnati.
