SlideRules obviously is a very polite individual.

Are you aware that Cleveland Heights sits on the doorstep of both University Circle and Little Italy, and offers excellent mass transit options to downtown Cleveland???

You likely would benefit from reading this thread, as SlideRules evaluated the cities you mentioned, especially Chagrin Falls, and more, before deciding upon CH.

Admittedly, the neighborhoods of CH bordering UC are much different than other CH neighborhoods.

As far as Lakewood, if you want easy access to Lake Erie, the Ohio City Market District, and downtown, or even the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo which offers a wonderful membership option, it's superior to most options in Greater Cleveland. Again, some Lakewood neighborhoods are greatly superior to other neighborhoods.

Relative school rankings may not favor Lakewood or Cleveland Heights, but those arguably can be misleading.

How does one find the "better" areas in Lakewood? We are entertaining the idea of moving there, and just stumbled upon the area

In Lakewood, the combination of “north and west” will put you in more upscale spots with safer neighborhoods.

Think “west of Warren Road” and “north of Detroit Ave.” - in fact, north of Clifton Blvd., closer to the lake, if budget allows.

Clifton Park would be an example.

Use SpotCrime or a similar app to evaluate specific crime activity. You’ll note the further north and west (again, the combo), the less crime. Virtually non-existent, in fact.

This is not to say the other parts of Lakewood are untenable, but it answers your specific question.

There is a heavy use train track that runs through the heart of Lakewood. Do your research and be cognizant of your noise threshold.

Good luck!
