Just wondering what you guys think are some nice/interesting/cool streets in areas that most people would never visit, or even actively avoid due to a bad reputation of the area. Post street view links so we can see what you're talking about.

Newton Avenue (Fairfax) - very intact block with homes really packed densely together. I imagine most of the area looked like this before the Cleveland Clinic dominated.

Ashbury Avenue (Glenville) - every time I come by here, the homes all seem very well maintained and the architecture is great. Seems very pleasant. The side streets are pretty nice too.

Indiana Avenue (Slavic Village) - I love the brick street and the really nice dense tree canopy. Mix of duplexes and single family homes in an area of a few blocks with no outlet.

I wish I could contribute to this thread, but I don't know Cleveland well enough to participate. Fun idea, though.

I wouldn't mind living on any of the streets you posted.

The Union-Miles historic district pretty interesting and off the beaten path. There are several architecturally interesting historic buildings, and a central green space that everything is built around. The area was originally the “downtown” of Newburgh Township, and the building in the green was the Newburgh town hall.

A couple others I just thought of with nice churches that punctuate the street:

E 65th (Slavic Village)

Lausche Avenue (St. Clair)

I do like this little area here. The other end of the street is also pretty cool, love the triangular apartment building:

Default Cleveland police staffing shortages

WEWS had a news segment on its 11 p.m. news last evening about rising crime rates in Cleveland even as the police department faces staff shortages. I couldn't find the story on the WEWS website.

Here's an earlier story about staffing.

Here's a WKYC story about crime rates.

I wonder if deteriorating crime statistics will impact the property boom in the City of Cleveland and less the attractiveness of the streets identified in this thread.

The next mayor of Cleveland needs to make crime the top issue imo. It's ridiculous what happens here. Even in the good areas, people put up with way too much. I've met people leaving Ohio City for the suburbs due to car and home break ins and the like.

Edgepark Road in Garfield Heights is right across the street from the metropark and has some real gem homes:

The near west side has a few of these, too.
