Violent crime spike can't be blamed on him, as it's a national phenomenon that's affected pretty much every city -- no worse here than elsewhere. Jackson has also avoided the kind of rampant corruption that apparently has plagued area politics for decades.

Bibb must've done something to get a lot of attention, as I see his signs everywhere. Turner is associated with Sanders ... fine, I guess ... that should get her some run. Kevin Kelly doesn't seem to have done anything to distinguish himself in his many years in council, and seems to have problems with transparency, from what I hear. According to a flier I got, my house is basically going to burn down if I don't vote for him. Meh.
Oops ... I'm an idiot. I somehow mixed up the congressional special election with the mayoral race. (Nina Turner is running in the former.) I still don't know who to vote for for either.

This is a good podcast that can help voters decide who to vote for. There are only 2 episodes so far, but more are coming. https://www.ideastream.org/topics/after-jackson

Good call ... I've listened a bit and it seems well-done. Thanks for the tip.

They are all bad choices. As someone who lives in Lakewood, I’m a bit concerned. Cleveland’s trash has been slowly but surely starting to creep in to our city. The city needs a mayor that’ll just stand back and let the police do their jobs!

Bibb is young, doesn't have the baggage of his competition, and, to me, has those leadership qualities needed to run a city. God knows what kind of impact he can have with all of Cleveland's challenges, but he certainly seems capable. If I lived in city limits, he'd have my vote.

That ship already sailed a couple decades ago. Even back in the '80s when I lived in Lakewood, I could see that trend beginning.

I wonder how suburbanites define "Cleveland trash." I have my suspicions ...

I think of the candidates I've heard so far, Basheer Jones appeals to me most. He seems the most genuinely passionate about making Cleveland a better place, as opposed to just becoming mayor as resume-builder.

Just a reminder to everyone, today is the day to vote.

I'm interested to see how this pans out. I really have no idea.
