The term "drug related crime" appears to be vague. From what I've read, it seems like if "illegal" drugs/use are present anywhere on the crime scene, then you might be able to officially call that, "a drug related crime," in The U.S.A.

My guess is, people who happen to be high, sometimes murder each other. And, well, people who spend a lot of time around illegal drugs, do bad things, more often than people who don't, because they have low character.

Drug-related crimes often refer to the fact that those involved were either using or selling drugs. In the inner city, more often than not, those involved were selling drugs. (A higher percentage of kids from the suburbs use drugs than those in the inner city. I do not have any stats on adults in these groups.) People involved in the sale of drugs are usually more violent than those using drugs. This is due to the underground nature of the economic activity. If someone stiffs you on a drug sale, there is no legal recourse, and thus the law of the street is the only way to "get even". That is one of the reasons why you see such a high crime rate in areas where drugs are sold, similar to the spike in crime that occurred during Prohibition. I am not advocating for the legality of drugs, I am simply explaining why I think the sale of drugs correlates to a high crime rate.

Please leave.

Crime is directly related to socioeconomic issues, not race. If race was the sole factor in crimes, many European countries would NOT have higher crime than the US. Nor would Russia. Are you by any chance a poster by the name of factslogic on Cleveland.com?

From the same website you posted a link to:

"Most drug offenders are white. Five times as many whites use drugs as blacks. Yet blacks comprise the great majority of drug offenders sent to prison."
