WOW. All the people that are obsessed with urban decay really need to check this area out. And thanks to the wonders of google maps, you don't have to risk your life to see it.

This area is 1 of the nastiest in cleveland IMO....

nothing but row's and rows of apartments and abandoned houses.

on a scale of 1-10, in categories of dangerious and dead what would you give this area?

dead:8.5
danger:7

Yes, that is a pretty bad area.

This just reminded me I havent been on that google street view thing in months.

I havent had time to look through that much, but some of the worst looking areas Ive seen first hand are Hayden ave. in East Cleveland (excluding the few new houses), also the area between Wyham and Shaw in East Cleveland N of Euclid and S of the tracks. Cedar Ave around E81st in Cleveland. The Kinsman neighborhood has a lot of almost completely abandoned streets like Holton and Grand.

How do you post pictures like that?

The area is high in crime, but the structures themselves in the second picture look to be pretty nice and in good shape.

It's really not the worst looking, IMO. But it is an ugly sign of urban decay

I mean, there are areas EXACTLY the same just outside of Ohio State - I mean identical. The West 7th projects used to be the nastiest.

On that google maps street view thing go to the places that I mentioned (since I dont know how to post the pictures).

Specifically Chapman Ave. in East Cleveland between Euclid ave. and Elderwood ave. That entire street is abandoned/crumbling 3 story brick building excluding 1 low income apartment building. You wont find anything like that in Columbus. A lot of the surrounding area is similar to that as well (Elderwood, Hayden, E 133rd, E131st., Eddy rd.). I remember being through most of those areas and it actually looks worse in person. I knew someone near Elderwood, not a nice looking place.

All you gotta do is press the "print screen" button, and go to microsoft paint and past it and save it as jpg.

but i took the liberty of showing chapman cuz and you are right. I wasn't familiar with the area but i can tell its as gutter as you can get.

Yes that is pretty sad.

You would never think that the richest man in the history of the world (John D. Rockefeller) once had a summer home (mansion) there.

When I take trips back to Cleveland I usually take a ride through East Cleveland, and there is definetly some very bad streets in EC with alot of boarded up houses and decay. But there is still some nice well kept streets. And the new Shaw HS looks nice too.
