West Tech Lofts? (Cleveland, North Olmsted: section 8, apartments, neighborhood)

Hi, I will be moving to Cleveland in June and I was recently reading about the West Tech Lofts, a converted school building on the West side.

I'm in my mid-20's and will be working in North Olmstead, so I thought this would be a perfect location halfway between work the social life downtown.

I couldn't find an official website for the place, and the few reviews I could find online were spread all over the board... does anyone know anything about these apartments?

Please for the love of God do not move into these apartments. Just live in North Olmsted (I live there) way closer to shopping and everything else. The West Tech Lofts have a lot of Katrina victims in them and the neighborhood is a complete dump anymore. There is no real social life downtown, so don't worry about that. There are a couple of bars in North Olmsted that are pretty sweet, you can just go there. Some pizza guy I know got robbed delivering a pizza to the aforementioned Katrina victims.

The only time downtown is hopping is St Pattys Day, Browns games, some playoff games, and maybe some summer weekend nights. Just please stay away from that area.

I've been here for about a year (lease is up soon) and I will be moving out. Management is HORRENDOUS. Her name is Rachel and I'm not quite sure she actually does anything. The building always has trash in it. Numerous times there has been dog feces and urine in the halls. There's a fenced in area for dogs that is full of feces. There's even more feces OUTSIDE the dog area. This building is a Section 8 dump. It has a lot of potential but it's obvious that a lot of the tenants just don't care if they live in a nice place or not.

Good luck ever getting a hold of security. They have it set up that it goes to an automated message so even if there is an emergency you can't talk to a human. For months the fire alarm would go off for no reason at 5am multiple times a week. For the dog area you have to prop the door open with a rug because there's no door handle on the outside and no way to get in. I was told for about a year now that they were installing a key pad and that never happened. The gym is also a disgrace. All the equipment is broken and a ton of free weights are missing.

Simply put, this place is a dump with a ton of lowlifes living here and management that just doesn't care if you have any sort of problems with the building. STAY AWAY!!!!
