I have a very good friend who has been a flight attendant for 20 years. Her hub is Charlotte but she's lived in New Bern for most of her career and swears by it. She says it's really convenient to deadhead to wherever she needs to go to catch her flights. NB used to be a no-go for younger people but that's changed in the last 10 years as more young people have moved in. If you kayak or sail, you can't beat it.
honestly,I believe you friend is the exception no t the rule, if she in fact was living in New Bern 20 years ago. New Bern is a fine place, a certain type of young single women could be very happy there, and dating prospect favor women more than men in the area. It is also less than an hour from Greenville which offers more of what a typical single 20 something would be looking for. Still the city of New Bern doesn't offer as much as the alternatives for the OP.
OP if you ever pass back through here, it'd be interesting to find out what you picked. I imagine a decision has been made by now.
The city of Roanoke is NOT a town, neither is charlottesville. They are small cities tho.. Roanoke has much more to do and a higher population. They are not that similar
Charlottesville is by far the most progressive and exciting, although Roanoke is a bigger city. Charlottesville is not far from the allure of Northern VA and DC.
Couldn't quote you SGMI - agree, people don't pay attention to dates, someone new signs on (likely/usually for one post) - and it starts up again - LOL
