Not familiar w/area at all. Where would you recommend one live if working at Weyerhaueser. Will plan a weekend trip to explore soon so would like to be pointed in right direction. What would be a decent commute, no stink in air, nice homes w/decent size lots, schools not an issue, quality of life is.

Not much to go on as far as the requirements you listed, but New Bern, Bridgeton, Vanceboro and the other various communities scattered around Western Craven County. No need to go as far as Pitt or Lenoir County. Though I'm sure someone will post to reccoemnd Greenville, but there is nothing Greenville has that makes it worth the commute in IMO. If Greenville, as a city, has more of what you are looking for versus New Bern, then look at places in Vanceboro which is between the two.

If you must move to ENC then Greenville is a good choice. It has tons of shopping, a great community spirit built around ECU's teams. Lots of homes in all price ranges. Crime can be a bit of a problem but you really only have to look at the neighborhood to see if it's going to be a problem. You can probably find the home you're looking for in the Eastern Pines area (very low crime) and it's a straight shot down 43 to Vanceboro. Easy commute.

Weyerhaueser has a Vanceboro address but it much closer to New Bern. Greenville is a fine choice if you don't mind the commute, but like I said before is what you listed worth a daily 40 min drive?
