My wife and I are planning our retirement and are considering Wilmington, but some of these comments about the city are not helping. Can somebody share some of the nice things Wilmington has to offer to a couple of young retirees? boating, fishing, swiming, bicycling, theater etc.
Certainly the Wilmington area has plenty of things to do for retirees. Just find your community, and many will have boat ramps. There are many parks to bike or walk in. Just check the Wilmington NC: Latest news, sports, weather | StarNewsOnline.com for theater and music events. The beaches are free, and the parking is available if you stick to the middle of the week.
The negative comments come mainly about people who need jobs and have totally unrealistic expectations about the area.
Sorry to barge in...I just joined city-data on a recommendation because I am considering relocation to Carolina Bch area, and for the life of me....I cant figure out how to post a question (or 30 or 40). LOL. Posting a reponse is easy enough, but...
Thanks! Robbyn
