Certainly the Wilmington area has plenty of things to do for retirees. Just find your community, and many will have boat ramps. There are many parks to bike or walk in. Just check the Wilmington NC: Latest news, sports, weather | StarNewsOnline.com for theater and music events. The beaches are free, and the parking is available if you stick to the middle of the week.

The negative comments come mainly about people who need jobs and have totally unrealistic expectations about the area.
