there is actually a gated community within Mott's Landing, it is
being built now.
I did not know that there is no age restrictions at
Mott's Landing, good to know.
I have not seen any young families there though.

I didn't know that, movedtothecoast. It must be fairly new. I know they've started adding townhomes instead of just single-family.

We have looked at Tidal Walk and Motts Landing. Tidal Walk suits us better. The houses are large Coastal Living homes and the community boasts sidewalks, pool, beautiful clubhouse with gym, a gate now secures the community at night, and a lovely park w boat slips on the waterway across from popular Masonboro Island. You have the coastal vibe going at TW with an assortment of families and seniors. Prices range from low 300's ( over 2100 sq ft. to 800k - custom home.

Motts Landing offers nice brick homes with aging in place features. I did not note sidewalks except in one small area. Prices seemed high to us. -1900 sq foot over 350k. All homes looked so much alike.

For a 55 year old, I would choose Tidal Walk. Over 68 Motts Landing.
