OK, so now I have a real problem..... on Tuesday, March 22nd, St James is having one of their infamous Cigar Nights, replete with top quality cigars, Single Malt Scotch, heavy hors d'ouvres and stimulating evening conversation with all them thar yankee transplants. We arrive for our next visit two days later on Thursday, March 24th....... bummer !
Stonecreek:
Maybe if you asked real nice LeRoi would go in your place and he could post here his musings and interactions with the Yankee crowd. I'm sure it would be enlighting for both him and the Yankees!
Alright... another 3-4 inches of snow last night, on top of the gazillion inches we just had..... even though it's unusually nippy throughout the south this year, North Carolina is lookin' better and better !
Just saw the St James DVD and read the intro book. I see where the annual fees are $775/year; do they include use of things like the tennis courts and fitness club?
The booklet indicates that taxes are $.36/$100, which means taxes are only $900 on a $250K home; does that sound right?
Also, what does the wind and hail insurance cost on a $250K home?
Received the St. James magazine today and was very impressed. DH and I have always planned to retire to Brunswick County, and now he is really getting into St. James. We've always thought it was a great place, but figured it was too pricey for us. Now we're doing some re-figuring. The POA fees are reasonable and we know the location is perfect for us. I'll be emailing for some more specific information.
No school today, early dismissal yesterday. The snow is up to the windows in the back of our house---and piled so high that it's dangerous to drive around a street corner.
Carol in CT (Where, some towns have adopted a policy of a $10.00 surcharge on certain traffic tickets, and the surcharge is given to the town where the ticket is issued. A nice incentive to issue more tickets ) (And where a surcharge is added to my electric bill to be applied to pay the state's debts--where'd all that casino money go?)
You might like the Woodland Park section, too! off the beat and path, lots of trees (hence the name), larger custom homes! Good luck! Hope everything is coming along with the contract on your home!
