My wife and I are considering the Wilmington area as a place to spend our "golden years". We are planning on making our first trip to the area shortly and are planning on looking at the Compass Pointe and Brunswick Forest developments. We would like to live in a community with nice facilities....rec center, pool, golf course access, etc, and be around folks in our age group...mid 50's and up. Young families and kids are fine too....but we don't want to be the oldest folks in the neighborhood. Any suggestions for other areas, developments we might want to look at? I would say the top end of our budget is $750K, but would be very happy if we could keep things under $600K. Thanks in advance.

With that budget you could look at St James Plantation, Ocean Ridge Plantation or Landfall. You will get many good reviews by just reading through the suggested threads.

Hi we live in Compass Pointe and have a resale that is well appointed. 8473 Compass pointe e wynd NE
Look it up on realtor.com. We removed all the builder grade kitchen and added a 20x20 sunroom. It's worth looking at! Golf course is now open!

Thanks Don

We prefer Brunswick Forest. It has a beautiful fitness center, golf course and walking/biking trails. Also, you are less than a mile from grocery stores, retail stores, restaurants and medical.
