You can contact Green Coast Recycling at (910) 471-7747. Green Coast is run by my brother, Cliff, and his friend, James. They do a great job and service customers whose homes are located outside the city limits (as well as well bars and restaurants). Ogden, Porter's Neck, Wrightsville. You'll see their trucks all over town! They do a lot of service work as well, and a portion of their proceeds go to the Surf Rider Foundation. They're affordable, responsible, and dedicated. Give them a call at (910) 471-7747.

I'm moving to the Porter's Neck area and just found out that the garbage pick up companies don't recycle???? I'm shocked. I've never lived any where that the city/town didn't pick up your trash AND recycle. They don't do either. Any discussion of possibly changing or why they don't?? I'm going to continue to recycle- anyone know where I would take it?
Thanks!!
Hey! check out GreenCoast Recycling: Wilmington, NC Commercial and Residential recycling. They pick up (curbside recycling.) for home and commercial. there are always alternatives! there are recycling drop off's all over town. i know the inconvenience but i choose to to do it anyways! we all can make a difference 1 person at a time! just google recycling drop off's in wilm. i'm thinking wrightsville beach might be a close one for you! good luck!! onelove
The problem is Bob Grier one of the council members who want to sell the county landfill and the incinerator to private conglomerates like Waste Management. The county work force has great ideas for recycling at the landfill itself but wont let them. There is a great management team at those fascilities but there handcuffed.Remember!Garbage is a commodoty and that is OUR commodoty to put back into our communities not for a private company to steal.Support the landfill at the next meeting. The small guys like Green Coast will be put out of bussiness
Oh yeah!Jason Thompson is the new guy on the council.Dont let the old goats steer him down a bad path.I hava had ENOUGH of big corp. How bout the little guy for once
This whole area is so far behind in environmental things, I think. I'm glad we can at least take our recycling to our local "trash transfer" station here in Hampstead. But we are limited in what we can take....kind of sad to me....and also sad how much trash is all over the highways in this area....it gets picked up and then it appears all over again.....
