I just moved to a great house in Ayden, NC. I researched all I could on- line and even came down for a visit. My real estate agent informed me that my kids would attend Ayden schools and everything seemed to be fine. I was then informed by my neighbor that my kids would attend Grifton schools (which I heard are not great academically at all, but not sure). I don't even know that if I call 911 would a Grifton police officer respond or Ayden police officer. I assumed since my address is Ayden and I live in Ayden that I would have access to everything that Ayden has to offer. I also got a letter in the mail from Grifton Rescue Squad to donate to their facilities?

If anyone in this area is familiar with how the towns are cut off, please let me know.

Grifton is a K-8 school and is pretty good. Ayden schools aren't that bad either. I would prefer Grifton schools over Ayden. If you can private message me I can help you with the right schools and the right police department. I was born and raised in Pitt Co and lived in and worked for the Town of Ayden for awhile.

If you get your utilities from Ayden, you will attend the Ayden Schools. If you live in the country, you may need to check your bills. I think the cut-off road is Little Field.

You can find out the answers to your questions and a whole lot more info by visiting the Pitt County Online Parcel Information System at -->> "Pitt County OPIS" (http://gis.pittcountync.gov/website/opis/ - broken link)

There is a drop down menu on the left side and you can see exactly where the boundry lines for everything are. I cerainly, certainly hope you checked for the routing for the new 4 lane SW Greenville Bypass before you bought. It would be a shame to have that 70 MPH 4 lane divided highway right outside your front door.
