Went to Yummy yogurt on firetower the other night. It was kinda neat to mix up your own stuff and there was a lot of choices. Prices were not awful. The yogurt itself was meh to pretty bad. Birthday Cake and Strawberry were the only ones I tolerated. Banana, Chocolate, and Peanut Butter were pretty hateful. The other flavors were blah. The location is WAY too big for what they are doing with it, unless they got a really great lease on the location.

Default Charles blvd/43S area

Does anyone know if road expansion is planned for 43 to DH Connley high school south of the Bells Fork area? They've had markers all over the area for about a year now, but nothing seems to happen.

Last I heard/saw I thought PCC either bought it/leased it/something along those lines. They wanted it to expand their construction department.

They're installing new utilites, ie: gas pipes, I believe. They also have to run a new main for sewer to Chicod School.

Maryjane55us, They're installing fiber optic cable from Greenville to New Bern along NC43. It will be capable of providing high speed internet, cable TV and phone service. I believe this is part of a stimulus project to connect all schools, community colleges & colleges with high speed internet in eastern North Carolina. I wish they were 4-laning NC 43 at least to D H Connely/Hollywood Crossroads, but I'm afraid it will be a long time before that happens.

We live off 43 less than a mile from Conley and have had cable/high speed internet for 15yrs; I'm not sure why we got it and they didn't. Thanks for the answers, although I was really hoping 43S was going to be four-laned.

Meanwhile, I wish the county would spray for mosquitos. We cannot step outside without getting eaten alive. Is it such a big thing to ask for?

Remind me again what it is we are getting for our $2000/yr in tax monies? (yikes.. that's $30,000 paid to Pitt since we've lived here) We have no curbs, no gutters, no trash pickup; we pay for our streetlights and our neighborhood roads are not state maintained.

Most of the property tax goes towards the schools, I believe.

There is a huge difference between high speed internet via cable TV and fibreoptic.

Your roads are not state maintained because the developer of the neighborhood never asked the state to take them over.

I read in the Reflector that a site plan for Mellow Mushroom has been submitted to the City for approval.
