I am hoping for some input for a beach visit this summer. I am moving to the Wake Forest area and my extended family has decided they want to visit and then stay at the beach for a week. We are concentrating on the upper Outer Banks so it's a little closer drive home for them (everyone is from Northern Virginia). We are considering Corolla, Duck and would be open for any suggestions on neighborhoods or other places to consider. We need a dog friendly house with a private pool. It's a little late but we are hoping we can find something. Any input on homes, rental companies, or neighborhoods would be great. Thanks!

I do not think it is too late to get a good rental.
For shortest on drive time and deal with less traffic I would suggest Nags head or south nags head.

I like the way the area around Duck looks but you cant go wrong in any city between

Try obxconnection.com or visitob.com they both have good realty information and reviews and suggestions.

I love the 4X4 area of Corolla...go to Twiddy.com and search Swan Beach.
