The season starts for CSU Pueblo on Sept 4 as we host West Texas. Then on Sept 13 the team travels to Sam Houston State. I made a bid and won so a friend and I get to fly with the team down to the game. Should be a great time and if we win a party plane on the way home! Can't wait.
CSU Pueblo has been ranked 4th in the nation! According to the Pueblo Chieftain this is the highest ranking the team has ever had before the season starts.
GO PACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the third time since the AFCA Division II Coaches’ Poll started in 2000 that the Bearcats have begun the season ranked No. 1. Grand Valley State (Mich.) comes in at No. 2, followed by Minnesota-Duluth, Colorado State-Pueblo and North Alabama rounding out the Top 5.
As usual, CSU-P will run roughshod through a weak schedule and then fall flat on their face in the playoffs.
The playoffs do get more difficult. Last year the quarterback broke his thumb if the Pack can stay healthy I think they will make it to the title game.

I happen to see this article in the Denver Post about CSU Pueblo. I really have a good feeling about this season!
This is from the Denver Post:
The ThunderWolves' lone victory in the playoffs was over Indianapolis in 2012.
Payne hopes to change that in 2014. The 6-5, 286-pound senior wants to bring home a national championship for Pueblo and his family.
"It would mean everything," Payne said. "Everybody in Pueblo knows that we can do it; we just haven't. That's what this year is going to be about. Winning every game like we know we can and getting to that point. For this team, anything less is a failure."
The ThunderWolves play their season opener Sept. 4 against West Texas A&M.
If CSU Pueblo wins the national title Pueblo will go wild. Sporting wise it would be the biggest thing to have ever happened in Pueblo and southern Colorado including Colorado Springs.

Josseppie convinced me this is a local topic and that it will get more discussion here, so here it is, back after a longer while. Hopefully it won't be problematic
