OSU's schedule is a cakewalk but it looks brutal when compared to Hawaii's

I don't see Hawaii as anymore overrated than Michigan. Are you kidding me? Michigan was first beaten AT HOME by a 1AA school, then soundly POUNDED again AT HOME by Oregon.

No team deserves to be back knocking on the top 10 door after that. But somehow the BCS put them there.

So no, I don't really see Hawaii as overrated unless they lose and are still hanging out in the top 20.

Even though they probably suck, they could easily go undefeated. That is why we need a playoff, so teams like Hawaii would be exposed for how good they really are. Until they get a playoff, I guess all we can do is speculate on whether or not they suck, as opposed to having it decided on the field against a top rated team.

While I agree that Hawaii would likely lose to a top 5 team, its far too much of a guessing game, and a matter of saying "well Hawaii only beat team x by 3 points in the last seconds, and team x got beat 42-7 by team y, and team y lost to the number 3 team 48-3, so there's no way they are any good.

The problem with this mentality is a lot of teams look really good until they are having an off day and someone totally unexpectedly knocks them off. Look at LSU, no one thought Kentucky could possibly beat them, but they did. But Tennessee beat South Carolina and South Carolina beat Kentucky, so Tennessee is better than LSU, right? And Mississippi State beat Kentucky by more than Florida could, so MS ST is better than Florida or LSU, they should be ranked high!

Playoffs are a must IMO. To many woulda, coulda, shoulda's going around college ball. Lack of playoffs is the number one reason I can't get as excited about college as I can the pro's.

A plus one game would work for me. I see what you are saying about the faults of comparing who beat who, but that's not the problem; the problem is that Hawaii hasn't beat anyone worth mentioning.
