I am moving to Newark, NJ next month. I'm also considering going back to school to earn an MBA part-time. The program has to be flexible since I travel 20% of the time.

The MBA will not equate to additional dollars with my employer, but it's something that I've been wanting to do for my personal enrichment. For this reason, it doesn't have to be a top program, just a good one where I can learn new things.

What are the good b-schools in the Newark - NYC area?

I've heard decent things about Rutgers - Newark.

Stern or Columbia. Rutgers doesn't compare (although it's not horrible either). I don't know how flexible they are, however.

Are you sure you want to live in Newark? Not at all a good place.

Why is it not a good place? There's parts that are perfectly fine. Especially near the universities and/or ironbound district. Also, between prudential insurance headquarters and audible is fine.

Montclair State. Although it sounds like you are coming from out of state. You probably need to live here for a couple years to qualify for in state tuition rates

NJBest, you know very well that Newark is not a good place to live. There are a few nice places. Mostly though it is full of gangs and ghettos. It consistently gets on lists of 10 worst places to live in the US.
