I'm in my late 20s and will be starting my final semester of grad school in January (there IS a god! ) About a handful of my peers are in their late 30s. Every one of them is a wife and parent and brings experiences that have helped them during our time together. One had just completed her Bachelors Degree weeks before we began grad school. I guess it goes without saying that things happen that keep some people from going straight to school, and some truly don't know what they want to do, so I think that time helped them to really solidify their options and they are pursuing what they likely will do for a very long time.

I am getting my undergrad this year and I will be 35 in May when I graduate (I quit years ago) and now I'm on track to finish with honors.

Do it, Do it.

I was not quite 30 when I finished my M.Ed. I am now well into my 30s and would love to go back for another graduate degree. If I had unlimited finances, I would stay in grad school all the time. I love learning.

I did it at 35, and even graduated.

I would definitely go back to school after 30 if it helped me enhance my skills and advance my career. I firmly believe that one is never too old to get an education. Also, if you want to change professions midway through your career or just want to become more of a specialist in your chosen field, then getting a graduate degree is a great place to start. These days many colleges also offer accelerated degree programs, which means you can earn these degrees in much less time than usually required. One good college that offers fast-track degrees is California College San Diego. I heard about this college from a friend who started grad school recently.

wouldn't mind doing it, but not for a career move, yeah its doable, but unless you hate your job the time off and starting again at entry level might be a long term loss in ROI... I'd do it if I had the extra $ and do it in something like Lit, Phil, Classics etc. or something else you enjoy.

There is a lady in her 50's in my chemistry class that is working on her masters. No idea what she is perusing but that is what she told me.
