I just moved here to Colorado Springs about a few months ago and my apartments are kicking us out because I'm expecting my 4th child and occupancy limit has exceeded because of it. So, my husband and I and 4 children are forced to move, but the problem is we can't find cheap rent (700-850) a month (in a good neighborhood-crime wise) for a 3 bedroom because the market has increased drastically. So, we're thinking Kansas but I was wondering if it's high elevation on the way there ie, mountains etc.. to drive there being that I'm pregnant. I can't go above 6800 ft. or so, or I start feeling dizzy. Any suggestions for cheap homes for rent, and does anyone know the drive??? btw, are there any bible based churches there?

I'm so confused by your post.

Where do you live currently?

Kansas is not high elevation, about 500' above sea level.

I lived in Wichita for 15 years (grew up there) and go back to visit friends and family. I would NEVER move back there after living in Colorado. Kansas is hot, humid, violent storms, and no excitement.

You can surely find a 3 bedroom home in COS for $900/month.

Here's a start: colo springs apts/housing for rent classifieds - craigslist

Default Where I live

I live in the Springs, but I'm considering moving because I can't seem to find a 'decent' home in a 'decent' neighborhood for under 800-900.00 a month. Unless I want to live in southeast and that for me is not my ideal place to raise Children. So, question is anyone know of nice, cheap and ideal places to raise children in Kansas. Oh, also... tornadoes??? I know I can't escape them in Kansas but how many would you say happen per year?

You should probably ask these questions on a Kansas forum. And regarding driving to Kansas, I don't think there are any mountains to drive over between here and there, it will just go slowly down in elevation I think.

The drive on I-70 to Kansas is pretty much downhill. Most of Kansas is over 1000'.

When I-70 hits the KS/CO border, the elevation is 4000 feet.
