Sunny and a balmy 8 below here this morning. Yesterday morning it was 34 below zero. Around 7" of snow on the ground, some melting yesterday. Hope some more melting today. Highways 550 and 62 are dry, some snowpack patches near Ouray, and on Dallas Divide. Red Mountain Pass chains or 4wd required. All town streets are snowpacked and will remain so until whenever it thaws during mud season. Snow forecast for the next 8 days starting Saturday. Avalanche warning for the San Juans for the next several days.

Pretty strong storm blowing through the western slope last night and this morning. Grand Junction area ranged 2 to 5 inches of snow, and will be C-O-L-D tonight. They are saying it will warm up to the mid 40's by Friday though. We'll see!

I am so looking forward to sunshine for the next week. I wish we could get our LOCAL weather here instead of that Denver junk. Here's my street a few minutes ago:

A sizable storm came through the Grand Junction area around 2 this morning. It rained hard-damn hard. In fact, 11 News this morning had a story of a couple vehicles getting hit by rocks in the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 near the Powderhorn exit.

They are calling for 10 to 20 inches of snow in the high country tonight and tomorrow. The snow level on the Bookcliffs here in Junction looks like around 6000 ft.

Jim9251, what did your area do from this storm from early this morning?
