About 5 or 6 flakes in Grand Junction. That's about it. Sun is shining and more blue spots are appearing as the morning progresses. At least the overnite low stayed out of single digit territory last nite.

Earlier today, I mistakenly posted this in the fire thread, thinking I was in this thread.

In case no one noticed, 2012 was a hot & dry year! Here in Grand Junction 2012 was the 3rd driest year on record and also the 3rd hottest on record. In Grand Junction, the long term mean temperature for a normal leap year is 51.86 degrees. In 2012 it was 55.23, a variance of + 3.37 degrees averaged out over the course of the entire year, and that includes December with a mean temperature that was 2.23 degrees below normal. BTW, December was the first month since May 2011 with a mean temperature below normal. The first day of 2013 was 14.5 degrees below normal. Off to a cold start for 2013! The temp in Grand Junction last ventured on the plus side of freezing on Dec-18-2012.

Cosmic's right. And speaking on the subject of freezing temps, according to Butch McCain on 11News, we won't see 32 degrees until Monday at the earliest. We have a high pressure camped out over us and will see lots of sun and cold temps. Not unusual around here however.

It was 6 below zero at my house this morning, at 9pm tonight it's zero. Still about 3 inches of snow on the ground. VERY pretty, I wish it would stay this way with more snow all winter here. Sadly, it will not.

Well hopefully the snow will fall in the high country as I'll be in Vail, Colorado for about 8 days from next wednesday and would like to go snowmobiling at Camp Hale.

January is my least favorite time to come, but I've got plenty of miles for several free air tickets and I've been putting off the trip for a few months so I figured why not come out and use some miles up.
