This spring's weather reminds me of 2015, right after we moved to Colorado. Beginning in mid-May, the storms were almost daily, with more than one or two tornado warnings. Spent a few afternoons in the basement listening to Mike Nelson telling the kids at home what to do to stay safe. I kept hearing the TV weather guys talking about it being Monsoon season and that it would be over by early July. Nope. I was new to The West and the storms were much louder than I was used to, especially in a car. I kept wondering how the kids sports leagues were able to practice and play here. I think things got better in August, and I don't remember subsequent spring storms being as bad. It was apparently pretty bad in 2014 before we arrived, because much of SE Aurora was having hail damage repairs done to their homes when we were house-shopping.

Yesterday here in the Springs we had about 4 inches of rain, on top of 2 ish the day before - new records being set both for the date but also in the top 5 for all dates - nothing 'average' about it. Very interesting. I do kind of miss a bit of sun! This is impeding on my hiking now.

Today's Bloomberg has a very well illustrated article on El Niño weather patterns. It's a paywall site, but IMO worth it.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, the city saw 3.97 inches of rain through late Monday, the fifth-highest total on record and easily the most precipitation ever recorded for the date.

Plus, there was a blizzard on Pkes Peak - https://gazette.com/weather/pikes-pe...b72b87c4e.html. That has been known to occasionally happen in June or July.

Using the tilde on my Mac is easy.

Highlight the letter (any letter) for which you need the tilde.

Hit the Option and the n key.

Then hit the letter n and it should appear with the tilde, Cañon.

Regardless of what letter needs a tilde, it's always Option n.

Had a blizzard on top of Pikes Peak Monday. Almost a foot of snow, 40-50 mph winds, and drifts 3-4 feet deep stranded about 30 people on the summit for 4 hours.

The Hillclimb is scheduled to run two weeks from now.
