A quick note on that Norwood fire. I done a little research on it. It was on May 22nd, took out over 3000 acres, and shut down Colo. 145 for a time.

WE DON"T NEED NO STINKIN' FIRES!!

To me, this is Americana that so many places have lost.

Highway 62 is getting its fair share of traffic tonight and has been busier than usual. The reason? The Telluride Bluegrass Festival has been going the last few days, and wraps up Sunday night.

Thanks again Jim...looks nice. The kind of Americana I've been looking for too! Taking a vacation road trip next week to the Western Slope. Heading to my property again in the North Fork Valley, near Paonia.

Keep the pics coming, Jim. They are truly a blessing to look at and admire.

Ridgway River Festival today. Off and on thunderstorms and heavy rain. River is very clear and cool. About 70 degrees and a cool breeze.

Looking south along HWY 550 toward the San Juans this evening. You can see the rain over Red Mountain and Ouray way off in the distance. The rain is VERY welcome here, and it's been raining hard off and on all day (with way too many lightening bolts for my taste) along the Dallas Divide, the San Juans, and Owl Creek Pass. I may be the only newcomer to realize I am living in basically a high arid plateau, but I do. The rain and storms didn't spoil the River Festival...since it's in a ahem...river.
