Yes, Dilworth is a suburb of Charlotte. The central business district shouldn't have street parking but surrounding areas, it's still okay. Assembly is overcrowded with cars. The point is to reduce cars as much as possible in city center. But right now socially thats not a appealing idea, to columbia at least, so parking garages are the best bet as the cities central business district grows.
Wow. I just find it interesting Dilworth is considered a suburb. But sure enough on the neighborhood's Wikipedia page it is described as "charlotte's first streetcar suburb," so you are right. The reason I find it funny though is because I just google mapped the address I was at yesterday and the Bank of America world headquarters on N Tryon is only 1.5 miles away!! The stadium as my intuition led me to believe was only a mile away. And I also noticed a strip club nearby.

Yup, it's a beautiful neighborhood though. BOA helped in its creation. Yea, there is strip clubs anywhere you go nowadays. Alot of entertainment isn't geared towards families anymore due to the high divorce and non-marriage rates.
Okay, I started this thread and the last 10 posts have been about Charlotte.
That is my fault. Sorry. I'm finished discussing Charlotte , though my initial intent was to compare Dilworth to Devine St/Shandon within the broader context of what we were discussing (street parking in cities).

It's nice to compare cities and how they evolve Geography is amazing, thats why I have a degree in it I think once Vista and Bull Street are complete, Columbia should rapidly grow!
I have also talked about other topics as tangents to make points regarding the topic at hand. And I have always defended myself for doing so. So, all's well that ends well.

Yes, I like when conversations on here grow and evolve organically as well.
I'm not debating with you. You have your opinion and I have mine.
Except it's not really an opinion. It's obvious you haven't been to many big cities as NYC, Boston, Philly, DC, etc. all have tons of on-street parking. Would you call those suburban cities?

I'm curious what you mean by "when the Vista is complete." Just wondering what you would like to see there before you'd consider it largely developed.

I mean by once Kline is complete and renovations of the historic buildings are complete. But it will continue to grow after all the buildings are completely renovated.
