Its not an either/or situation. Columbia is unique in that both demographics are represented downtown. I think young professional housing is a shortage in Columbia. Developers are jumping on the low hanging fruit because Carolina is growing so rapidly. But, as we are seeing, other developers are coming in with different products to serve the post college crowd.

Hilton brand hotel and extended stay hotel coming to the clarion site. Clarion will be torn down for these two hotels.

Interesting; that Clarion has been so many different brands. The ones I can remember:

The Town House
The Hilton Town House
The Carolina Town House
Clarion

There have been others. Can anyone remember the others?

Any details on the building height, number of rooms, etc?
