It is crazy with that many people it is just mainly residential. That Publix might be considered Smiths Station.

Are you sure that Publix isn't in Phenix City? Granted the lines are kinda blurry. It's been about 5 years since I was over there, but back then Smiths Station was little more than a Piggly Wiggly, Dollar General, a couple of truck stops and miles and miles of land confiscated by the Feds from meth dealers and clearcut to prevent illicit activity ... and that's a fact. Lee County, AL is where the SE meth epidemic was reborn back in the mid-1990s

It is definitely on the border. Probably PC. That new apartment complex is in Smiths Station. It is off of 280 going toward Opelika. Looks really nice.

WHAT!?!?! Don't listen to this guy has never lived in Smiths Station. I have lived there for 4 years and it was the best community I EVER LIVED IN!!! EVER!!!!

I used to live in Castle wood Subdivision only 0.7 miles from downtown Smiths Station.

1. Area:

* Quiet and safe. Will hear the occasional gun shots form hunters not like the gun shots of murder in Columbus. There is Always at least two Sheriff cars or State Patrol stationed at Smiths Station City Hall. I remember my son set off our ADT system and the Sheriff was there in less then a minuet.

* Community is very tight and if you have your kids involved in sports you get to know how great the community is... Dixie Youth Baseball (AL state champions the last two years), Smith Station Football, Softball, and Upward basketball. There is a nice will lite running track around the high school baseball complex and the kids baseball fields are top notch. They also have a new sports complex just for football. Its great.

* Schools
The schools are and all have a 6-8 rating on great schools rating website. The teachers mostly come from Auburn university and Smiths Station Schools are partners and Auburn always has interns at the schools.
Class sizes are small. My son 2nd grade class had 12 kids ***12***!!!! The teachers care and are strict they demand respect and accountability. Parent involvement is also great at the schools. The schools also operate on central time so it was great not paying for after-school care. We picked up our kids at 3:15 - 2:15 central.

I only left to make more money but my home is still there for rent and I'm not selling cause It was just a great place to live. Quiet, safe hell I may come back if I don't like Atlanta.

Smith Station is a great place to live and raise kids.... sometimes I think was it worth leaving.

I live in Phenix City, Lee County. The area where Publix is was annexed into Phenix City. Regardless, Smiths Station or Lee County in general (in our area) is great! I love the convenience of living in N Phenix City. I have 3 children that have graduated from SSHS & one that is a senior. Great Schools!

Smith's Station is like Mayberry on the Andy Griffith show. There is literally nothing there but a few mom and pop shops. Subway may be there. Publix is definitely in Phenix City. The Publix is over-priced, but it is nice. There is not really much in Phenix City, either. They have a walmart, but those are everywhere.
