For Charleston, you mentioned it, but don't downplay the critical role that being the state capital had in its skyline, that means there are always a large group of politicians, staff, lobbyists, etc. who would not officially live in the city, but would have to reside and work in it, not to mention the myriad ways a capital city can bring in outside money.

Finally, because of where those two cities are they never experienced any significant impact from white flight and the abandonment of the city center.
JayHey, your points all make sense, and are well taken. Thanks for your input.

I was a bit surprised to see that apartment building being stick built. Nothing wrong with it, but I was under the impression it would be block wall construction. It's going up so quick!!

Thanks for the periodic photo updates! Pretty amazing! Now for restoring the Rialto and Bradley theaters to provide "dinner and a movie" options for all the future residents, CSU students, and guests of the new hotels coming on line in the future!

Have they released a detailed plan for this yet? I wonder what the large patio riverside is going to be, hopefully something commercial - restaurant/bar with live music would be fun there.

A large patio with an amphitheater would be nice to view the river and have concerts, but considerations would have to be given to apartment dwellers. We'll see...

The 2nd story, the section where there are just railings being built, it looks like an open area.

They're still building. The park is coming after the completion of the apartments. Soon after that, construction for the office building will start.
