I have one from Al Gore from 1986 in which he says; "hellooooooo, is anyone else out there?"

I blocked him but kept the e-mail

In my mailbox, Feb 2007 is the oldest one.

I have archives that go back to the '90s.

I still have my old AOL email addresses (don't use them though) that contain emails from 1997.

You got me curious and now I'm more so. Even though I've had one still used web-based AOL address since 1998, the oldest mails showing are only from 2008 on.

On this one, I only go back to 2000. I have archives that go back to the mid-1980s. Having documentation of instructions and agreements has saved me more than once. When communicating with a customer about software issues, I've found that I can often cut-n-paste a response I've made for use by another customer, or in some cases just send them the same email when they AGAIN make the same screw-up.

I still have some old text documents that were last modified in May, 1997, which were created on a 286.

Any email addresses I had that early on are now defunct.

The oldest sent message saved in my oldest still-active email account is dated 7-21-06.

I have a copy of an email I got from a friend in 1996, the very first email I ever got.
Technically it is not on the computer but it is from the computer.
Currently I have no idea how old the oldest email I still have is.
