Same here. 10 is the first version in a long time that doesn't make me want to nuke the partition. It's great to see Microsoft finally focusing on making things clean, simple, and organized.

Unfortunately there's still a lot of legacy cruft around, but at least it doesn't have that garish UI that 7 sported.

Bleh... Win 7 is old... I love W10 but I hate the insecurity features of it. It's probably more susceptable to hackers, and Microsoft spying on you. But I love it's new features and multiple desktop capability.

And when I buy used Lenovo's, I only look for those that upgraded to the Free Win 10.

I'm keeping Win7 for as long as possible. I had a trojan on my laptop and the person who repaired it (still a little glitchy) said Win10 would probably overwhelm the system. So I would have to buy new hardware, etc. Just trying to milk the technology!!!

^ interesting, since most tests have shown fewer demands.

I'm sure you can keep win7 for ten, maybe fifteen more years, especially if you never buy new or upgraded software that won't run on 7. Heck, there are machines still running WinXP, and I expect there are a few people that are still running DOS and Wordstar, maybe along side Lotus 123!

A bigger screen should work on most systems, even older ones, as long as it's not one of those high resolution displays. You can always check your video settings in advance, to see if the setting you'd need is possible, or let a new screen up-scale.

Windows 7 was the new XP. Now 10 is the new 7. As much as I liked 7 (a lot), 10 is a big improvement.

Looking for help on my XP/7.
I am and do use my Win 7 now for a year and a half.My XP which I preferred was not compatible for bill pay on some sites.
Yesterday I went to use it,dial up,when I clicked on e ichon Win 7 window came up,very beginning of install,I do not know how this happened.
When I checked control panel it showed Win 7,3.85 MB and XP blank.
I have no idea how this happened, now is there away for me to make it work?As said in past my computer skills are limited.
Any idea's or help will be appreciated.

I have an aging but very good slide scanner that connects by USB 1.1 or SCSI. Used SCSI of course until I went to win7. No win7 driver for the adaptec card. Tried USB. It's just about as fast, which made sense when I learned the SCSI card was only 10mbs. Time does march on.

I lost the use of other hardware as I upgraded, not to mention some valuable software, but such is progress. There's also quite a bit of good software out now optimized for Win10. Most, but not all, will run on 7, but never XP.
